Looking beyond the screen to understand emotions, behaviour, connection and healthy child development
A coaching conversation hosted and facilitated by KyCrew Wellbeing Coaching
Conversations about children’s wellbeing often focus on how much time they spend on screens. But what if we became curious about what is happening beneath the behaviour?
Screen use may be connected with many different needs: rest, stimulation, belonging, reassurance, escape, emotional regulation or simply the wish to connect. When we look beyond the screen—and listen before rushing to fix—we can begin to understand the child in the context of their relationships with adults around them and with their peer group. This enables a sustainable compassionate response to the behaviour.
This is not a conversation about blaming parents, children or technology. It is a thoughtful, practical coaching conversation between professionals who share a common belief: children thrive when the adults around them slow down, prepare themselves, notice emotions and prioritise connection.
Together, we will explore:
What screen-related behaviour may be communicating
How emotions, stress and development influence children’s choices
Why connection matters before correction
How supportive relationships help build resilience and emotional wellbeing
Practical ways to approach boundaries without losing sight of the child’s underlying needs
If you are concerned about screen use, anxiety, behaviour, emotional wellbeing or family connection, this webinar will help you move beyond arguments about devices and towards greater understanding.
Whether you are a parent, carer, educator, coach or healthcare professional—or simply care about children’s wellbeing—you will leave with fresh perspectives, reflective questions and practical ideas for supporting children and young people in an increasingly digital world.
