Working With Kooky — Our Therapet® Companion

For those that are comfortable with animals, some sessions at KyCrew Wellbeing Coaching can include the gentle support of Kooky, our much‑loved Therapet® companion. Kooky is an affectionate Labradoodle who has been a registered Therapet® with Canine Concern Scotland Trust for 8 years, bringing calm, comfort, and connection to the people she meets.

Her steady nature, soft presence, and intuitive gentleness make her a wonderful addition to outdoor, in‑home, and walk‑and‑talk wellbeing sessions.

Why Animal‑Assisted Support Helps

Working with a Therapet® like Kooky can:

  • Reduce stress and overwhelm

  • Make it easier to open up

  • Support emotional regulation

  • Help you stay present and grounded

  • Bring warmth and connection to the session

  • Ease anxiety about talking or being outdoors

For many clients — especially neurodivergent individuals, anxious clients, or those who struggle with traditional talking spaces — Kooky adds a layer of safety and comfort.

Kooky is:

  • A friendly, calm Labradoodle

  • Fully assessed and registered as a Therapet®

  • Experienced — supporting people for 8 years

  • Gentle, patient, and great with adults, young people, and anxious clients

  • Happy to walk quietly beside us or offer soft, grounding companionship

Clients often describe her as soothing, funny, and incredibly easy to be around.

How Kooky Supports Your Session

Kooky’s role is to bring comfort, grounding, and emotional ease. She may:

  • Walk alongside us during outdoor sessions

  • Sit nearby as a calming presence

  • Offer gentle interaction if you want it

  • Help regulate emotions during difficult moments

  • Make sessions feel less formal and more natural

You choose how much you interact with her — some clients simply enjoy her quiet presence, while others find stroking her deeply calming.

Where You Can Work With Kooky

Kooky can join you in:

  • Outdoor walk‑and‑talk sessions (beach, woodland, local green spaces)

  • In‑home accessible sessions where suitable

  • Some community or group sessions depending on environment and her welfare

Her wellbeing always comes first, and sessions are planned with both your comfort and hers in mind.

Professional Standards & Safety

As a registered Therapet®, Kooky is:

  • Assessed for temperament, behaviour, and suitability

  • Covered by Canine Concern Scotland Trust insurance during her work

  • Fully Vaccinated and vet health checked.

  • Handled with full attention to welfare, boundaries, and safety

I also hold full coaching insurance, safeguarding considerations, and risk assessments for sessions involving an animal.

Would You Like Kooky in Your Session?
